I’m british but I’ve got to agree with YYY, if germany started the war with the UK then I’d be almost certain we would of got our asses kicked. Britain was low on resources, and had time to prepare and use shady tactics to trick Germany.
Americans helped us as an ally, so I don’t see why we should argue with them. We both won the war against germany.
Also you can’t judge intelligence by a country, that’s racism and obviously isn’t true at all.

Germany was also VERY low on resources, a siege on the brittish isles was impossible with the troops/supplies hitler had, he was shitting himself as he thought he wouldnt need to fight them and always dreaded trying to invade the UK because island invasion is hard enough as it is without being low on resources and low troop morale, his mistake was making his troops fight the russians in their winter. yes america gave some troops at the end but the bulk of the suffering was from the other allied forces. the hiroshima bombing isnt anything to be proud of, it was vile and ditestable and it ended the war with Japan, not with germany (otherwise Berlin wouldnt need to have been divided into three parts when the allied and the russians met in the middle)
But the racism was uncalled for and sterotypical and it shouldnt be used as a sterotype against brittish as most are well educated except the Asbo`s

Second the labeling of my country as selfish is the most rank sort of BS that can be attributed to people who make it a point to talk about other people or nations which make them feel inferior. I am English (and therefore also British) and I’ve briefly looked through what has been written. Although i totally disagree with xxx’s point and think it was racist and unnecessary it is fair to say that fat people and stupid people a common both sides of the atlantic.
However I don’t think some of the American reactions were any more intelligent than xxx’s.
Germany (and indeed it’s disputed also Japan) as well as Italy had both surrendered by the time the nuke was dropped, this did not end the war.
An invasion of the British Isles was a plan at the beginning of the war but Germany had too few resources to attempt it and had also given up after narrowly losing the air battle named the battle of Britain.
America clearly helped out at the end of WWII and there is a valid argument in
saying they tipped the balance in the allies favor. However, unfortunately it was really a case of too little to late and if they were the deciding factor then millions of lives could have been saved had they acted sooner.
Finally although Americans won their independence from the British, it was a from a British empire that was the largest ever known. Not bad for such a small area.
Think before you criticize the Brits (or any other European country). Where do you think you’re language cam from? And more to the point, where did you come from?

i also feel like i need to give a detailed account of ww2 but i cant. i dont really know that much about it i’m just glad none of my family died during it. what i do know is that it ended 60+ years ago and 2 generations on people think they were on the front lines. trust me, what you learn about wars only skimms the teeth of what really happened. as far as im concerned, if you werent there then shut the fuck up talking about it like you played a major part in the victory.

Scotland ^_^. Just thought I’d throw that out there lolage. I read somewhere Canada was gonna become the dominant country. Now as much as I love Canada(Immigrating there after my I finish my Chemistry course). Scotland is really going to become the dominant country because when the world inevitably falls into chaos and there is fighting in the streets that’s where you’ll see Scotland at it’s best. Ok….so we’re fighting about…wars?…and countries that fight in wars?…I just want to say that everyone is human, and no human is perfect. Not even you, the self-centered arrogant hypocrites that are probably reading this thinking “Yeah, right, little sumbitch, what gives you the right to tell us about anything?” Everyone has their own personality and make their own choices. No one should be blamed for what someone else is guilty of. Everyone should be entitled to their own opinion. thanks you guys, i got a good laugh out of all of this stuff. missy england is best debater from what i read so good on ya girl! I’m a semi-proud american (minus the bush part lol! and i think the free economy system we have here is why we are all so broke anymore, along with several other countries, we gotta get it together like Canada). Sorry I am an Canada loving American. They do economy better there than in America. But ya, the flag thing, wasn’t the colors because they have significance. Like each color represents something, like honor and shit? I am pretty sure that is how it is (sorry I did learn about it in like primary school - elementary school sorry i am around a lot of non-american speakers - but I have fibromyalgia (look it up) so my memory is a bit off. Anyway, ya I am pretty sure every countries colors stand for something. Next for the whole smashing Germany and France, my fiance has a good argument for that.. how long did it take for England to ’smash’ france (and when was this great feat because I would love to hear it) and then how long did Germany take to do it. By your measures, Germany (where I was born so go me) is the BETTER country in those regards. Overall though, people are stupid no one should fight about all of this we should just all be like Canadians, why do you think they only fought a war with America back in the 1800s and burned our capital but ultimately lost? Because they are good people that don’t like conflict. Learn from them. sorry for my ‘yay canada’ speech, its just like they are the only people that have it right in the world anymore.
