To the whole Brian vs. Quagmire debate here...

If you ask me.... I haven't seen Family Guy in ages. Thought this episode absolutely was not funny and was disappointed to see they were seriously losing their funny. Quag's speech to Brian was the saving bit for me. Without that, the episode is crap. The thing is, from the perspective of the viewer, yes, Brian does look like the best character. He's the smartest, the most level-headed and one of the most interesting. He's really the only thinker on the show; everyone elses actions can be anticipated.
Having Quagmire lecture him is an interesting eye-opener though. At the start of the episode, I too was curious as to why Quagmire hated him. His lecture though, actually got me thinking.
To me the lecture says, a lot of us need to experience a similar situation. "You pretend you're this deep guy who dates women for their souls," "never seen you at the soup kitchen," "You're TOO SMART for religion." The whole thing sends a message of Brian being delusional and arrogant, and I think this applies to MANY people. Everyone wants to think they're special or that they're the best and they're above certain faults and mistakes, but a lot of us don't take action to show that.

Long story short, I think a person can learn a bit from that speech there. Just ask yourself if you're really as great as you think you are. That's my take on it, and I'm kinda surprised people are focusing on which of those two characters is better. xD

This episode of family guy is so god damn important to everyone, and probably reflects everything of importance in the world ,ever….and it is essential that we form arguments about all of the made up dialogue about fictional characters because as far as we know its really happening.

How dare they let a sexual deviant ‘CHARACTER’ have a go at a talking dog. Hmm that’s TV for you. a lot of things happening that are simply ridiculous, I mean, you’d think it was fictional or something.

And ..erm, if were picking faults, what’s with the babies head, is it stevie? There is no way that a babies head could be that shape, the brain would look like a melon or something. And seen as were on the subject of stupid characters, what’s with meg. I mean she looks practically identical to lois yet everyone finds lois hot and meg repulsive, she may be a bit fatter but hey, I like that in a cartoon character.

And finally Id just like to say that the writers of family guy obviously mean everything they put into the programme, I mean, its not like they are inadvertently mocking society and the stupid things that happen in it. That’s not what cartoons are for, they are for stating facts with no exaggeration used for comical value. HA!

When Seth McFarland said that “gays are the new blacks” in American dad! Or that “George bush was awesome” he meant it. I mean who would see the sarcasm in that?

P.S. I didn’t know lamps could look like Cleveland from behind that’s why I love this programme I keep learning sound facts, and gosh, stevie is very clever for a baby.

Good episode, a little less trying to be funny with the same kind of jokes all over again, and more actual good jokes. Quagmire's monologue was really well thought of, but I don't think it was actually ment to set things straight about Brian, since he is the coolest.
